Solstice Light

Summer Solstice shines upon the Northern Hemisphere on Friday,  June 20, 2025 at 8:43 pm MDT, and it ushers in a period of growth for the next 3 months.

Jupiter, the benefic planet of expansion and wisdom, joins the Sun in Cancer. Jupiter is exalted, or happy in Cancer, and it emphasizes our connection to what we find nurturing, nourishing, and healing – self-care, family, home. It forms a cooperative sextile aspect to Mars in grounded, earthy Virgo, furthering our efforts toward healing and work that fosters our growth.

Both Jupiter and Mars form a quincunx aspect to Pluto in Aquarius, in a configuration called a yod – or finger of God/Fate. This highlights the healing power of transformation that comes from a deeper understanding of and willingness to embrace our connection to each other. It underscores the undeniable power of knowing that together, we are stronger.

Another yod is formed by Saturn and Neptune in Aries and Pluto in Aquarius as they sextile each other and quincunx Mars in Virgo. This aids us in seeing through deception or actions that lack integrity, especially those that do not serve our higher collective good. It also helps us to give structure to our dreams and bring our ideals to life.

The Sun, Jupiter, Saturn, and Neptune are on the Aries point or world axis (zero +/- 2 degrees of cardinal signs), which points to the increased and potent amount of information and insight coming to light around the globe. Over this summer, it’s especially important that we remember that we have the power to respond to events – whether heightened discord and chaos, or moments of tenderness and joy. As we cultivate peace and well-being within our daily lives, we’re better equipped to recognize, support, and create that experience in our world.

On a practical level, this can look like getting our bare feet on the ground, taking walks in nature, focusing on our breathing, engaging in movement or meditations that we enjoy, spending time with those we love (including pets), helping others, acknowledging things that we appreciate, doing what makes us happy…etc. The list is unique to each of us, but the truth is that coming back to the simplicity of these acts serves not only us, but also our collective.

Here’s to honoring ourselves and each other this Summer, for the highest good of all relations.

With great love and blessings,
