I cannot imagine a stronger sense of feeling at home than when I’m inside of an aspen grove, and nothing evokes a more primal understanding of change in my soul than the autumn equinox.
I’m blessed to be able to live among majestic forests all year long, but as one born under the influence of Scorpio and Libra, autumn stirs something ancient in me. I long for the sacred connection I feel when I witness one of the largest living organisms on Earth shift into its next expression.
This year, Libra’s arrival falls upon the northern hemisphere on Sunday, September 22nd at 6:43 am MDT. A cardinal air sign, Libra invites us to breathe, take stock of how far we’ve come and honor the wisdom of practicing compassion ~ first with ourselves, than others.
At its heart, Venus-ruled Libra seeks peace and harmony in relationships and serves to balance the energy of its Mars-ruled counterpart, Aries. At the highest expression of Libra, we do this with grace and ease while honoring our integrity, so all parties involved win. At the more conditioned or shadowy expression of Libra, we do this by putting the needs of others over our own and the win is not shared.
If you’ve fallen into the latter category listed above, take heart. All things shift in time, and we can trust and honor our process of growth. We can rest. We can breathe. We can love. Our next expression will be more spirited for having aligned with the timeless rhythm and wisdom of nature.
In the midst of constant stimulation and discord in our world, here’s to taking a walk in an aspen forest together to reconnect with ourselves and each other, and to cultivate peace, for all relations.
With great love and blessings, always,
~ Christina
