In the northern hemisphere, we celebrate Autumnal Equinox when the Sun shines in Libra at 6:06 pm MDT on September 22, 2026.
Blankets of gold fall upon the Earth, reminding us that amidst change, nature knows peace. She shows us that if we pause between extremes, we are offered safe passage.
Libra knows the magic of liminal spaces well. It revels in dusk, when the day surrenders to night. It knows the stillness of deciduous forests as they prepare for winter, where bluebird skies carry winds of change that shake loose what seeks freedom.
It knows that peace is just one breath away, and that harmony cultivated in our corners of the world ripples out to others. It knows that even as the light slants and harvests are collected and celebrated with joy and appreciation, the next cycle of new life depends on this transition and our willingness to journey into longer nights and shorter days.
Libra’s air element inspires our breath, our ideas, and our lives. This autumn equinox, she connects the Sun’s Venusian-infused light to Pluto’s power in Aquarius and Uranus’s adaptability in Gemini via a grand trine. This current gifts us with potentiality and possibility. It invites us to shift any limiting perspectives, reclaim our personal power to create harmony for ourselves and others, and to bask in the beauty of moments of grace, no matter how fleeting.
The Sun in Libra forms quincunx aspects to Chiron and the north lunar node. Chiron, the asteroid that symbolizes our wise healer within, is currently retrograde in Aries, supporting one last sweep of areas where we lack courage or confidence. It empowers us to move beyond comfort zones and take risks, not just for ourselves but for the collective, thanks to the quincunx to the north lunar node in Aquarius. In the middle of April 2027, Chiron will settle back into Taurus for about 6 years, bringing our focus to self-worth and security, and we’ll be encouraged to take stock of our values and apply healing energy to what matters – again for ourselves and humanity. Until then, letting go of self doubt will serve us well.
An opposition from the Sun in Libra to Neptune in the early degrees of Aries calls us back to the dreams we want to make tangible as we co-create a new world. What whispers have we been hearing from our better angels that take us back to February of this year when Neptune joined Saturn in Aries? What intuitive truths are we being called to trust and follow to manifest our visions?
