Summer Solstice Waves of Light

We’re blessed with Summer in the northern hemisphere on Sunday, June 21, 2026 at 2:25 am MDT. The Sun beams at zero degrees Cancer and offers the gift of the longest day of the year. It invites us to bask in the light, engage in that which brings us joy, surround ourselves with whatever or whomever makes our hearts sing, and take in healthy fare that feeds our bodies – and our souls.

Cancer embodies the growing season where new life abounds. In the mountains that I am fortunate to call home, gardens are flourishing, birds are singing and nesting, deer and elk are birthing and nurturing their spotted fawns and calves, respectively. Dragonflies, butterflies, and ladybugs are sailing on the wind, bees are sipping water in baths made just for them, and long lazy sunsets are inviting moments of reverence.

In this fast-paced year of the Fire Horse in the Chinese Zodiac when most of our outer planets are in active Air and Fire signs, this Solstice marks a time when the feminine signs of Water and Earth remind us to pause. To ground. To love. To receive.

Cancer’s watery energy is sensitive, receptive, emotional, and protective. The Sun, Mercury, and Jupiter in Cancer invite us to feel into the present moment and lean into what nourishes us.

Chiron, the asteroid that symbolizes our wise healer within, recently shifted from self-focused Aries to earthy, grounded, beauty-focused Taurus, where values and self-worth reign. As we reach out for what we want, Mars in Taurus lends elements of peace, stability, and security to our actions.

The Moon on the Summer Solstice is in practical, earthy Virgo, offering support in doing the work that matters most. Integrating elements of lightheartedness and joy into our work will maximize the energies of the season.

Over the next three months, we’re given the opportunity to dip into the healing waters of authenticity. Here’s to saying yes to Summer and embracing the waves of light and joy, for the highest good of all relations!

With abundant blessings and love,
Always love.
