In the Northern Hemisphere, the Winter Solstice commences on 12/21/22 at 2:48 pm MST when the Sun blesses us with Capricorn’s confidence and unwavering determination to keep striving to greater heights.
On this holy day, we’re invited to take stock of our accomplishments, near misses and perceived failures and release them with gratitude for the wisdom they bestowed upon us. When we do this without attachment to ego, we’re able to suspend judgment and dwell in the realm of acceptance, where true power lives.
This Winter Solstice occurs in the Balsamic or Dark phase of the Moon when we’re called to go inside. Ideas and visions gestate here, and we’re invited to review and release what has come before in order to make room for what wants to be born.
Then, when the New Moon shows herself just two days later on December 23, 2022, at 3:17 am MST, we’ll be inspired to take the necessary steps to manifest our visions. She’ll join the Sun at 1 degree of Capricorn and square Jupiter, the planet of expansion, which will move into Aries for the third and final time this year. This auspicious placement gives us the chance to expand our understanding of survival and imbue it with wisdom gained from our journey.
The New Moon and Sun in Capricorn will also form a loose square to Neptune in Pisces, reminding us that the process of redefining survival requires us to surrender what no longer serves us. Forgiveness, compassion and connection are imperative to our success and Neptune in Pisces masters all of these qualities.
Grounding into Mother Earth also serves us well during Capricorn’s journey. Tuning into her endless supply of resources and expressing gratitude for all of them is a beautiful way to honor her cycles and seasons.
Wherever Winter Solstice finds you, may you be warm, well and blessed with light and love.
Always Love.
